about

“Nashville based Pale Rider comes with his first full dub set after a series of 12” cuts, all on his homegrown label. ‘Four Channel Dub’, the opener, fittingly intros with a tape rewind, and refers to the studio restrictions in place at the time when waves of dub emanated from Kingston studios, ‘Music City Rock’ is an easy-rocking, vibes-driven tune, reminiscent of mid-period Augustus Pablo. It’s all done on reel-to-reel tape machines, with Pale Rider dubbing the mixes off the tape; the results were mastered by Russ Disciple in the London’s Backyard Studios for the final cut. Concentric Dub is Pale Rider’s most assured effort to date, demonstrated by ‘Kingly Character’, inspired by the rhythm from the late Garnett Silk’s tune of the same name, with a wobbly wah-wah riff mirrored by the sprightly keyboards sounding right out of Chinna Smith’s early 80s playbook.” – Steve Barker, WIRE (UK)

“Slow and rootsy dub. Real instruments with live dub mixing from a 1/4” Teac 4-track reel to reel make for some stark, heavy dub. Silk-screen jacket. Very nice!” – Ernie Boetius, ERNIE B'S REGGAE (USA)

“Cassava Outernational So far released have been over the current Dabuatisuto, Pale Rider 2011 film. Ryosaku impressive guitar playing sounds fascinating and dreamy Ino Hiroshi unique range of spatial processing. The Dabuarubamu very common arrangement is a fresh new sense listen. Silk screen jacket design.” – Matsumura, MEDITATIONS (Japan)
