“Last year Pale Rider, former bass/keys/guitar man and remix engineer of Phase Selector Sound, had a three month DJ residency at the Island Breeze Cafe in his hometown of Nashville, USA. Following this stint, he went into a crazed process of producing brainstormed dub tracks that he later intended to hone down into the most promising cuts. Of the 28 tunes he generated, four now emerge on this new vinyl release. All the cuts were created in a one-pass dub mix style and then selecting the best of several versions. The title track has a definite Far Eastern feel melodically, and is perhaps the most overtly pretty Pale Rider tune so far. ‘Undreamed’ is developed on a doubled-up nyahbinghi roll, a strict head-nodder with only the odd organ twirl to disturb a meditational reverie. On the flip, ‘Peaking’ has more of a stripped-down feel, and only the reverbed guitar chops bring back the awareness of a reggae based origin – it could be classic drum ‘n’ bass moving through treacle.” – Steve Barker, WIRE
