Listening back, I hear this title track as an unintentional tribute to Mikey Dread, a huge figure in a lot of what I do. He originated a wicked radio deejay style of linking tunes back to older tunes on the same rhythms. As a selector in Heavyweight Sound System in Nashville, we found Mikey Dread to be a positive supporter of young sound systems like us – we opened for Mikey Dread at one of his Nashville appearances, and later had the honor of interviewing him for our radio show (following a second Nashville appearance). Perhaps most importantly, his dub albums are fantastic.
